Biologics & OncoSentrics
A comprehensive oncology management company thoughtfully changing the shape of cancer care through unique patient-centric services for payors, researchers, manufactures and clinicians. Biologics anticipates and responds to the changing landscape of oncology management services including:
- Plan sponsor/payor management strategies
- Clinical oncology pharmacy
- Clinical trial drug, distribution and logistics
- Biopharma Services
Cancer is very complex with more than 300 distinct types, plus various stages of progression. Biologics has, for 14 years, been exclusively dedicated to the treatment of cancer. According to the American Cancer Society, most plans will have a 1% incidence rate of cancer among total members, translating into 15% of total health care cost. Today, cancer by far has the most robust new drug pipeline across clinical trial research, with 750 different drugs. The financial impact of the pipeline is expected to increase 233% from 2004 to 2012.
The Medicare Modernization Act, passed in 2003, was an opportunity for Biologics to work with oncologists across the nation to understand their perspective and challenges. As a result, Biologics built OncoSentrics based upon the needs of three stakeholders: Patients, Plan Sponsors and Medical providers. Their program:
- Puts patients back at the top of the health care pyramid
- Assists plan sponsors by containing cost while providing the best possible cancer care for members
- Assists medical providers while easing administrative burden and minimizing push-back
OncoSentrics, can be part of a benefits plan that delivers elevated cancer care and improved clinical outcomes at a lower cost. By leveraging Biologics’ extensive expertise and singular focus on oncology, patients and their treatment are the priorities throughout the course of treatment. The program elements include:
- Clinical Review - Proactively compares clinical treatment plan appropriateness and dosing to evidence-based guidelines and ensures provider drug pricing to Medicare methodology
- Patient Management - Oncology certified nurse & clinical oncology pharmacist provides assessments, interventions and patient education for enhanced compliance and clinical outcomes. Available 24/7.
- Claim Review - Audit billed claim against plan for treatment for accuracy
- Performance Reports - Monthly, semi-annual and annual. ROI average is $3 -$7 per $1 invested.
